I didn't know how to do that until I could actually control more of the variables behind the scenes, like the distribution, my own website layout, the product pages, that kind of stuff. I wanted to approach my business as more of an entrepreneur than just a creative. I had over 20 books, and I was only making a couple thousand a month. I got really frustrated with looking at Amazon and trying to do everything I could. Katie: I think at first the desire for a little more control over my career is what drove me into the arms of direct sales. Why did you decide to start focusing on selling direct as a priority rather than an afterthought?
